Neuropathy Pain Study

Shooting pain down your leg? You may have painful lumbosacral radiculopathy (PLSR), often referred to as sciatica. A clinical research study is now enrolling adults for an investigational drug for chronic pain. 

Who is eligible?

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 70

  • Have had symptoms of sciatica for more than three months 

  • Have pain in one leg, with leg pain worse than back pain

  • Feel comfortable, or have a caregiver who is comfortable, using an application on a smartphone

Baby COVID-19 Vaccine Study

The Covid-19 story is ever-evolving. Join in a nationwide effort to try to protect our kids from this dangerous disease.

Reported COVID-19 cases among children spiked dramatically in 2022 during the Omicron variant winter surge, peaking at 1,150,000 cases reported in one week. Almost 13.3 million children have tested positive for COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic according to available state reports.

Who is Eligible?*

  • Healthy infants 12 weeks to less than 6 months of age

  • Be in good health and not had COVID-19 or close contact with someone with COVID-19 within the past 14 days

  • Have parent/guardian able to attend all trial visits

Attention: People Living with Alzheimer’s Disease and Those Caring For Them

Research is underway for an investigational pill that may help treat this most common type of dementia. This pill offers a novel mechanism to attack neurodegenerative diseases. It will be tested for potency and speed of action with the goal to improve cognitive ability in Alzheimer's patients.

Currently, no treatment is available to stop or reverse the progression of Alzheimer’s.

  • Age 55 - 85

  • Have mild to moderate diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease

  • Have a study partner in frequent contact with the participant

Join the CMV Victory Trial

What is CMV? Cytomegalovirus, is a leading cause of birth defects around the world. CMV is a common viral infection that usually goes unnoticed or only causes mild symptoms in most people. But if a woman becomes infected with CMV while she is pregnant, she can pass the infection to her unborn baby. This can cause her child to suffer long-term disability due to birth defects.

Currently, there is no approved vaccineagainst CMV.

CMV is the #1 infection that causes birth defects in the U.S. and one of the most common infectious causes of birth defects globally.

Who is Eligible?*

  • Women, in good health, between 16 and under 18 years of age

  • Not pregnant or planning to become pregnant within the next 10 months

– Obesity is a worldwide epidemic. Currently 1 in 5 adults are considered obese.

– Obesity can lead to heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers.

Norovirus in Babies Can Lead to Dangerous Dehydration

Research is underway for a vaccine to prevent norovirus in infants and ultimately prevent acute gastroenteritis. Vaccinating at an early age could reduce severe illness in babies and young children.

Norovirus is the leading cause of vomiting and diarrhea, and foodborne illness in the US. The norovirus can spread very quickly and easily. Currently, there is no vaccine to cure norovirus infection in babies.

Who is Eligible?

  • We are looking for newborns less than 2 months old to take part in this study.

  • Participation includes study visits at no cost to you.

A study is underway for a vaccine aimed at the prevention of group B streptococcal disease in young children by the active immunization of pregnant moms.

Group B streptococcus (GBS) is most frequently found in the very young—newborns and infants. GBS can cause more serious illness in infants, including sepsis, meningitis, pneumonia, and death. Pregnant women may be particularly susceptible to GBS disease as well.

Who is Eligible?

  • Women 18-40 years of age

  • Healthy or having stable chronic conditions

  • Pregnant between 24 weeks and 35 weeks

Maternal RSV Vaccine Study

RSV A common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms in children younger than 1 year of age.

A common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lungs) and pneumonia in children younger than 1 year of age.

Almost all children will be infected with RSV by their second birthday.

Studies show that by vaccinating pregnant mothers, babies can receive immunity against RSV before they are born.

Pediatric COVID-19 Study

The focus of this study is on children, newborn to 2 years who have tested positive for Covid-19. The intent is to test a treatment option in the hopes of preventing long-term side effects. This study is looking at those most at-risk including: infants before their first birthday and one year olds with certain chronic illnesses.

Potential study participants need to have tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time with 72 hours of study treatment. Be Well Clinical Studies can test for Covid-19 at our clinic location if your child is having symptoms.

The study’s drug treatment will be given to participants with early symptoms of Covid-19. Samples will be taken from the back of the nose to determine how much virus is in the body at various times during the study. Participation could last about 12 weeks and includes one required visit to our clinic, with the remainder of assessments performed in the home or by phone.
