Founder and Director

Mark Carlson, MD is a fellowship-trained, board-certified geriatrician, internist and oncologist. As a college undergraduate, Dr. Carlson launched his medical career as an EKG tech in 1984.

Dr. Carlson received his medical doctorate from Loma Linda University in California and completed his geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. Prior to his move into geriatrics, he spent nearly 20 years of practice in medical oncology, where serious illness had to be managed with the latest in medical technology, compassion and a trusting patient-doctor relationship.

Dr. Carlson combined these skills with his desire to help seniors in the aging process and created Be Well MD.

Be Well MD is a medical practice designed specifically for aging adults, providing the highest quality medical care. Convenience, access and customized senior care are the hallmarks of Be Well MD.

Clinical research has been a cornerstone of Dr. Carlson's career. He has served as principal investigator of more than 60 clinical trials. During his tenure in oncology, he participated in drug trials leading to approval for treatments that are commonly used in the clinic setting today.

With his focus on senior health, Dr. Carlson recognizes that advanced treatments are desperately needed for dementia and other senior-related conditions. Little is being done in the area of clinical research for elders today and yet the opportunity is vast.

Dr. Carlson serves as the Medical Director and one of the Principal Investigators for Be Well Clinical Studies.
