Norovirus in Babies Can Lead to Dangerous Dehydration

Research is underway for a vaccine to prevent norovirus in infants and ultimately prevent acute gastroenteritis. Vaccinating at an early age could reduce severe illness in babies and young children.

Norovirus is the leading cause of vomiting and diarrhea, and foodborne illness in the US. The norovirus can spread very quickly and easily. Currently, there is no vaccine to cure norovirus infection in babies.
