Why Be Well Clinical Studies Is Still Running COVID Trials

Because science doesn’t stop when headlines do.

At Be Well Clinical Studies, we’ve always believed in following the science, even when public attention moves on. That’s why, nearly five years after COVID-19 changed the world, we’re still conducting COVID studies today.

And yes, they’re still needed – maybe now more than ever.

COVID Isn’t Gone - It’s Changing

COVID-19 hasn’t vanished. In fact, like the flu, COVID-19 continues to mutate, creating new variants that can partially evade immunity and cause reinfection. That means the vaccines we relied on in 2020 or 2021 need regular updates to stay effective against the latest versions of the virus.

“Flu and COVID-19 are different viruses, but they behave in very similar ways,” explains Dr. AJ Ryan, Principal Investigator at BWCS. “Both mutate. Both spread rapidly. And both demand updated vaccines to stay effective.”

Just like annual flu shots, COVID boosters are now part of our long-term strategy to reduce hospitalization and severe illness. Ongoing clinical trials, like the ones we’re running at BWCS, are what makes these updates possible.

Why COVID Trials Still Matter

Right now, BWCS is participating in COVID vaccine studies that help:

·      Test new versions of vaccines for emerging variants

·      Explore combination vaccines (like flu + COVID in one shot)  ]

·      Understand how long immunity lasts in different age groups

·      Make vaccines more accessible and easier to distribute

These studies are critical not only for developing future doses, but also for ensuring the data stays relevant and inclusive, especially for populations who weren’t fully represented in early trials.

“You don’t get a Hepatitis C booster every year, but you do get a flu and COVID shot,” adds Dr. Ryan. “That’s because these viruses change constantly. Our research helps ensure the vaccines do too.”

Why Be Well Clinical Studies?

Be Well Clinical Studies has been involved in COVID research since the earliest days of the pandemic. We’ve earned the trust of clinical study sponsors, regulators, and our communities by providing accurate data, safe environments, and compassionate volunteer care.

By enrolling in a COVID-19 study with Be Well Clinical Studies, participants aren’t just protecting themselves. They’re helping inform global vaccine strategy, advance public health, and support scientific discovery that will benefit generations to come.

If you’re interested in joining a COVID research study, visit BeWellClinicalStudies.com or call one of our site locations to learn more. Every participant moves science forward, and every study brings us closer to long-term solutions.

Because staying ready is what research is all about.
